Our staff is conformed by 13 research scientist, 7 research associates and 12 technicians, who are divided in two departments: Nutrition and Metabolism, and Public Nutrition and Health.

The work areas of the Department of Nutrition and Metabolism cover clinical aspects of nutrition, body composition, geriatric nutrition, molecular nutrition, composition and nutritional value of the diet, metabolism components of the diet and nutrients, nutrition and immunology, nutrition and infection, nutrition and animal health.

The Department of Nutrition and Public Health works in the areas of nutrition, health and lifestyle, food security, evaluation and development of intervention models, evaluation of public policies and programmes in nutrition and epidemiology of diseases related to nutrition.
