The Coordination of Nutrition carries out research and teaching for graduate students in the areas of nutrition and health. These include public nutrition, nutrition for special needs, as well as the association of nutrition / infection in the host. Given the importance of the transitional phenomenon in the process of nutrition, we currently are studying the changes of dietary patterns and health indicators in the development of chronic diseases and their implications from infancy to old age. We use several techniques including molecular biology tools, stable isotopes, inmunochemical techniques, as well as community and physiological studies. This finds its main application in clinical studies, diagnostic, intervention in the general population and ethnic groups. In addition we work on the nutrition and health of pigs for the livestock industry. |
