Actualmente estamos involucrados en estudios sobre la genética poblacional, la relación filogenética y la ecología de varias especies de insectos y otros artrópodos del Desierto Sonorense asociados con cactáceas, incluyendo varias especies de Drosophila cactófilas, escarabajos (Coleoptera: Histeridae) de la tribu Hololeptini (Hololepta spp. e Iliotona spp.) y Dinocheirus arizonensis (Pseudoscorpiones).
